Appearance
oriental cockroachShiny black to dark reddish-brown; about 1 inch long. Females have no wings, only two small wing pads.
Habitat
The oriental cockroach commonly inhabits sewers and storm culverts and can enter buildings through floor drains. They survive outdoors in firewood, leaf litter, sheds, doghouses, and similar locations. During colder months, oriental cockroaches often reinvade homes, establishing themselves in basements, cellars, and crawl spaces.
Diet

Oriental cockroaches are scavengers and will eat almost anything.

Control
Cockroaches pose serious health risks to employees and businesses. In addition to standard roach control treatments, such as baits to eliminate existing populations, controlling oriental cockroaches requires special attention to damp crawl spaces, basements, and floor drains. Sealing cracks in your building’s exterior and installing screens in all vents can help prevent these pests from returning.
